DRONExpo 2022

Alter Technology will participate in DRONExpo on 11 and 12 May.

This participation is relevant to the UAS-Drones sector to communicate the need to carry out the drone conformity assessment process for the CE marking and for the class label, which will be mandatory from January 2023 for any drone of the open category marketed in the European Union.

During the event, ALTER TECHNOLOGY will present to manufacturers and distributors the process of carrying out the conformity assessment of a drone concerning Regulation 2019/945, requirements and phases (laboratory tests, flight tests, and certification decision), as well as the importance of carrying out this process to adapt as soon as possible to the new European drone regulation, which will allow manufacturers and distributors to access the European market.

With more than 30 years in the aerospace sector, Alter’s primary services in the drone sector are safety services. It offers solutions to cover the whole range of the current needs in the market to perform a safe operation. These safety services are divided into three original categories: functional safety to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of current industry standards adapted to the UAS sector; operational safety to develop the necessary documentation for flight authorization for a different type of UAS (including drone taxi models), and product safety using laboratory tests that ensure that the CE marking is obtained.

Alter Technology also participates in different Standardization and Normalization Workgroups, including ASD-STAN D05 WG08 and ISO WGs related to the UAS sector.

Alter is a Notified Body for the UAS Regulation 2019/945 for drones in categories C0-C4 (open category) and is working on expanding its accreditation to classes C5 and C6.
