About Us

ALTER is a Spanish company, member of TÜV NORD Group, leading the Aerospace Business Unit. We conduct testing processes, qualification, approval or certification of electrical, electronic and electromechanical equipment for high reliability sectors such as Space, Aeronautics, Drones-RPAS, Defense, Security, Fire, Energy, Telecommunications, Railways, Transport, Traffic, …., among others. Including CE marking.

ALTER became the first European Notified Body for Regulation (EU) 2019/945. As a Notified Body in the 2019/945 UAS Regulation and 2014/53/EU RED Directive, we could help you get the CE Marking and Class Label C0-C4 (open category).

We are currently working to expand our accreditation over the next months as Notified Body to classes C5 and C6 (specific category). 

ALTER is European Notified Body (NB 2031) for:

  • Regulation (EU) 2019/945 for UAS-Drones.
  • EMC Directive: 2014/30/EU Electromagnetic compatibility.
  • RED Directive: 2014/53/UE RED (Radio equipment).
  • Regulation (EU) No 305/2011. Fire Detectors.
 
Other accreditations:
 
  • Testing Laboratory accredited by ENAC (Spanish Accreditation Body), according to the standard EN 17025:2005.

  • Certification Body accredited by ENAC (Spanish Accreditation Authority), according to the standard EN 17065:2012, for security and safety electronics products.(intrusion, access control, videosurveillance (VVS)…).

AIRWATCH – Marine Search and Rescue System based on a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS)  

AIRWATCH is an R&D project, funded by the FEDER INNTERCONECTA 2016 program from Spanish CDTI (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial), and it was performed by a consortium of companies and research centers which aimed to develop a Marine Search and Rescue system based on a RPAS.

TRACE – Smart drone EGNOS-based beacon for U-SPACE

This project is led by ALTER and funded by the GSA.The aim of this project is the development of a smart drone beacon for efficient remote identification, considering the future U-space and its related services.

BLACK SQUARE’s Hercules Quad drone

ALTER completes pilot testing of BLACK SQUARE’s Hercules Quad drone for pre-qualification and subsequent certification as a C6 class drone. The tests that have been carried out in our laboratories conducted at the Aerodrome.
