Since May, ALTER Technology has launched operations at the Centro de Investigación Aerotransportada de Rozas (CIAR), located in Lugo, Spain.
This initiative aligns with the Civil UAVs Initiative promoted by the Xunta de Galicia and is carried out in collaboration with Telespazio. The objective is to strengthen the presence of UAS/drone manufacturers and operators in the region by providing specialised testing and validation services for unmanned aircraft systems.
Our work at CIAR focuses primarily on flight tests in accordance with Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 for the Open Category (Classes C0, C1, C2, C3, and C4) and Specific Category (C5 and C6). We also design and execute customized test plans tailored to each client’s technical specifications, alongside calibration and validation of equipment and instrumentation.
These activities represent a key step towards the safe and efficient integration of drones into European airspace, reinforcing Galicia’s position as a hub for technological advancement in the UAS sector. This contributes not only to the development of cutting-edge technologies but also to the creation of new business opportunities.
Safety and innovation are fundamental pillars for ALTER. Through this initiative in Galicia, we reinforce our commitment to promoting the importance of certification processes and conformity assessment for unmanned aircraft, ensuring compliance with established requirements and the highest standards of quality and efficiency across different regions of Spain.
